A heavy sigh…
This is the
result from not coming to the meeting. Raphael was now sitting in his study
room, working on the mountains of documents and reports with a tired eyes. How can they push almost all the jobs to
me?! ‘That’s your own fault!!!’ Michael’s voice at
that time made him remember. Yeah, yeah..
It’s my fault.
Another
heavy sigh.
Flashback – Yesterday…
Raphael
just stoned on his place, still looking dreamily at the direction which his
newfound love gone, until Michael’s telepathy voice made his ears ringing. “WHERE
THE HELL ARE YOU?!!”
His body
jolted at the volume of the voice. Pinky fingers quickly found its way to the
tunnel of the ears. “That sure is loud Michael…” He said annoyedly before
sighing, “…And hello Mikhael.”
“DON’T
HELLO ME!!!” Michael stomped around his office, clearly irritated at how
relaxed his companion was. “You’ve gone for a total 4 hours! I’ve told you
already to show up at least 2 hour late!!”
“Whoa, is
that means I’ve been standing for around 3 ho… Oh!” Blood slowly drained from his
face as he finally remember about the meeting, “Then…” He choked the words out,
“…The meeting had ended?” We can’t use
any communication during meeting and the fact that he was speaking with me now
is…
“Of
course it is! It just ended a while ago!” The voice had become calmer at the
presence of the other end of the line’s panic. Finally that man realized his
fault.
“Oh no!”
Two large pristine wings with blue hue burst out from his back before he became
a mere silhouette on the sky.
Attending
the main meetings was very important. No one would want to slack off, except
God. Why? There was an important reason. Meetings were usually about the human
world AND to split up work. A sudden meeting means that the jobs and paperwork
were piling up. It’s like a war! Everyone will try to push their job to others.
Even Michael and Seraphim the most diligent angels known would do that. Well, the
main reason was because of the God and Cherubim. If for some reason one of
those two of can push their work to them, Michael or Seraphim, of course
they’ll try to push their work to another too so that their work won’t be too
much. Gabriel and Raphael were in Michael and Seraphim’s section but when the
time came, everyone was enemies!
But now that one of the meeting participants, in other words
me, didn’t come means just one thing. “The
meeting today must be quite peaceful, right?” Raphael asked with nearly cry
tone. His beautiful orbs were glistening with not-fall-YET tears.
“Yeah,”
There was sympathy in his voice that’s just enough to assure the angel of his
bad feeling. I knew it!! He thought,
crying in his heart. “How much?” I hope
there won’t be too much!
“Err,” The
hesitation made Raphael quickened his pace toward the office on the heaven.
After all, teleportation wasn’t something he, and the other arc-angels, liked
to do. Just for emergency alright. Oh no!
This is bad!! “Sorry, I can’t help you. There is still a big problem for me
to take care. Sera couldn’t either, because he must stand on guard to God and
this Gabriel is still new and inexperience so he can’t too.”
“Just
tell me how much…!” He began to panic as the pair of wings flapped with
unnecessary force. He really tempted to open the other pairs right now. Hell,
if it didn’t means he unleashing all of his power, he’ll definitely open it
LONG TIME AGO.
“It’s
around... To put it roughly…”
“Tell
me!”
Michael
on the other side of that telepathy line sighed heavily before spluttered the
number in one go, “About 43.776 documents and reports, they’re, of course,
excluding your usual and new on field works.” Omigosh! I want to die… The
documents they usually handled were around 1000-7000 in 3 days but this…
“How much
time I was given?” Raphael asked hurriedly while chanting, Please, please, please, give me more time!!, desperately.
Suddenly,
God interrupted their conversation with his happy-go-lucky tone, “I was so kind to you, so I’ve given
you 1 day more”
Blood
drained from the arc-angel’s face in a world-record speed. “What?! Just 4
days?! That’s crazy! The workload is 6 times more!!”
“Well,
just work overtime then. I believe you can do that. Hahahahhahahahahahahha…” Then the voice disappeared, just as fast as it came.
“Mic…”
The
Michael sat on his chair while thinking of the mess Raphael had got himself
into. This was exactly what he was afraid of when his buddy decided to heal the
werewolf. “Sorry, at first I want to add you time to 1 week but the God spoke
and it was reduced to just 1 day.” The sympathetic tone in his voice grew by
every word came out from him.
“Why did
he do that?!”
The other
arc-angel took his pen out from the holder then took one of the documents. He
spoke to Raphael in their telepathic line as the ruby orbs scanned the document
in his hand, “Hmm, I don’t really know but the God looks pretty irritated when
He showed up in the meeting. Looks like Sera just banned him from being near
him until he forgave Him. Do you have something to do with it?” The tip of his
pen moved to signature area.
The incident
this morning quickly resurfaced inside his head. Raphael frowned outwardly as
he answered, “Yeah, but that was His own fault!”
Then you really had irritate him… Michael sighed as the thought crossed his mind. He put the
first document to another place, ready to take the next paper. “I don’t know
what happened but He must be thinking that it was your fault since He’s pretty
childish, we know that.”
“Uh, I am arrived. Give me my works please.”
He replied as he landed on the yard in front of office main building. What do
I do? I just promised to meet up with him… Oh, I forgot to ask him his name!
I’ll ask him tomorrow. But what about these work? I must complete it in time
but I don’t want to cancel my da.. my meeting with him. Uuh, what to do?!
“I’ve
sent my subordinates to bring them to you, in raw since I think you want to see
just how much it was.” Michael put his signature on the paper, having approved
it after reading the contents. “Well, I have works to do. Take care..!” With
that short unfeeling sentence, the line was cut.
“Raphael-sama,”
He heard someone calling his name. His long blue colored hair swayed as he
turned to the direction that voice came from and… tears fell from the sapphire
orb on his face down to the concrete below. He was now standing face to face
with those mountains of papers. He wiped his tears away and tried to hold them
back as he spoke to those angels, “Thank you for bringing them to me. Please
put them on the floor.” They did as he said.
Raphael
wailed in his heart as he said, “Shrink to stone”.
Then those horrifyingly stack of papers glow in a pale blue color before
turning into a small, blue stone. He knelt down and took that thing. He realized
that those angels looked at him with admiration on their eyes when he stood up.
He sighed inwardly at the reaction. What’s
the need to admire that? It’s just a simple spell of shrinkage and
transformation.
“You can
go.” A gentle smile formed on his face as he spoke. They blushed then walked
away after bowing to him. All of the [Raphael]s were known as the gentlest
angel in heaven, he wasn’t the exception for that. Don’t mind his language that
sometimes become not-so-gentle, he really has a kind heart. What I wonder is why Mikhael often tell me
to not to get angry. He always tells it to me. I wonder why?
The
arc-angel walked to the edge of the land. Eyes gazing longingly to the earth,
he murmured, “I want to turn this into a diamond and give it to him.”
“I don’t
know who [he] is but do it if you want me to pursue him and take it by force.”
A voice suddenly came from behind his back. He was surprised that someone can
get behind him without him realizing.
He turned
back and just saw Seraphim’s back walking away with two books, “I won’t!!” He
shouted then flew away. Those books must
be their documents. I bet that damned God just run away after the
meeting ended. But judging from its size and thickness, one of them were just
around 6700 when the other around 1220 papers. Huh! That must be from pushing
His works to me! Unplanned meeting usually means the works has been pilling up.
In this time of time we’ll get two times more works than usual. So He must
be…Grrrr…
He arrived
just like that in his simple western-styled house, grumbling darkly about the preparatory
of his dark mood and everything else.
Well,
angel didn’t have any other hierarchy except their general power and position
so any one of them can choose to have any kind of houses. Raphael incidentally
wasn’t one who loved luxury but in need for a (very) big house so he chose a 2
floored house with simple design. His bedroom, study room, libraries and any personal
space was on the second floor when the others were on the floor below.
It’s not
like he loves having a big house or something, but he needed them. His house
acted like a spare hospital in case for something happen and his books were
just too much to fit into a normal sized house. This arc-angel’s number one
hobby was reading after all.
He
quickly went to the second floor and shut himself inside his study. I’ll work hard now! I’ll definitely finish
half of these written ones within a day! With determination burning up, he
started working on the documents.
Flashback finished – Today…
That’s
the story. And now, in the morning he still shut himself inside the room. He
had finished 22.701 documents for now. The
usual me won’t be able to do this. The arc-angel never went outside the room
even once as he has been working non-stop, determined to finish half of these
documents. This must be the power of
love! He exclaimed inside his mind before realizing how stupid that
sentence was at the same time.
Raphael
scratched his head brutally, What the
hell am I saying?! The power of love?! That’s so lame!!! Not too long
ahead, he realized what else he has been
doing. His hands stopped moving and another heavy sigh could be heard, “I must
take a bath and calm myself.”
To be continued…
